Google Translate is now available as a free app for Android smartphones making it possible to translate between more than 60 languages including Thai and English. The app allows a variety of input methods and can be used offline making it suitable for tourists with no data option and areas with poor network connectivity.
Google Translate can be downloaded from Google Play.
