If you would like to download the Thai speech synthesis program Vaja 6.0 (วาจา) then you should note a new download location on the NECTEC website. Downloads from NECTEC have previously been problematic for some users but the end user licence agreement prohibits us from hosting the software on the Bangkok Library web servers.

Language speech synthesis software jRaja (VAJA 6.0 Home Edition) translates Thai text into speech sound files (example sound file) that can be played immediately or saved in WAV file format.
This program could be ideal for native speakers and learners of Thai as a foreign language. Text can be copied from any application (e.g. web browser) and pasted into jRaja for speech synthesis.

Please note that due to licencing reasons the installation package is hosted on the NECTEC web servers. The speech synthesis program (25MB) is now bundled with a Java installer bringing the total package size to about 90MB.
VAJA / JRAJA software is freeware developed by the National Electronics and Computer Technology Center (NECTEC). Please check the terms of use before downloading and installing the software. LEXiTRON ™ (เล็กซิตรอน) is a Thai <-> English dictionary produced by the National Computer and Electronics Center, Thailand (NECTEC). There are two versions of the dictionary (sound / no sound) that you can download and install for free.
LEXiTRON is maintained by Thai staff and its users can suggest new words and definitions. This may explain how some of the more unusual words, spellings and sometimes vulgar slang has worked its way into the dictionary.
