If you would like to download the Thai speech synthesis program Vaja 6.0 (วาจา) then you should note a new download location on the NECTEC website. Downloads from NECTEC have previously been problematic for some users but the end user licence agreement prohibits us from hosting the software on the Bangkok Library web servers.

I received an email from a work colleague today letting me know that Adobe are now giving away Adobe Creative Suite 2 (CS2) for free. His email mentioned that I might need to register an account to download the software but I followed his link and downloaded the software (about 1.9GB) for free.
Downloading the software took about 10 minutes but we have a super-fast Internet connection at work. Absolutely no registration or payment required!

Vaja text-to-speech software is available on Google Play for Android phones and devices. We don’t have an Android phone to try the software but are impressed with the version for Microsoft Windows.

LEXiTRON ™ (เล็กซิตรอน) is a Thai <-> English dictionary produced by the National Computer and Electronics Center, Thailand (NECTEC). There are two versions of the dictionary (sound / no sound) that you can download and install for free.
LEXiTRON is maintained by Thai staff and its users can suggest new words and definitions. This may explain how some of the more unusual words, spellings and sometimes vulgar slang has worked its way into the dictionary.
